enzymes have special proteins that speed up chemical reactions. Enzymes lower amounts of energy which is called "energy of activation". Enzymes can also be named bio chemical catalysts. Each enzyme at a certain temperature at which they work best. They also have a pH at which they work best. Enzymes can be denatured which is made inactive and they need cofactors like small non protein molecules.
